Even I, avid food adventurer, was fearful of proscuitto ice cream. However, I think that it was destiny that had me try it. I am rarely in outer mission where Humphrey Slocombe is located, but the one day that I happened to be there when Humphrey Slocombe was open, they had Boccalone Proscuitto Ice Cream.
And since I always tell other people how adventurous I am as a eater, I had to taste it. and taste it I did. I assumed instantly that I wouldn’t like it, but it wasn’t too bad. What struck me the most was how the richness of the proscuitto (or perhaps the richness of the fat of the proscuitto) complimented the creamy texture of the ice cream. While it wasn’t horribly overwhelming meaty, I can’t say I will have it again.
I did however, get Blue Bottle Vietnamese Iced Coffee and Fluffernutter. They paired well together… but when the coffee flavor was done the fluffernutter was too sweet on its own.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have room for more ice cream although I really wanted to try the jesus juice. I should’ve had it on the day of Rapture probably.
oh well. there’s another rapture coming up so I’ll just try it then! Nothing like the Rapture to make a girl crave ice cream.
